It is glaringly apparent that we all must be committed to growing women-owned businesses. In today’s economy, women-owned businesses are smaller and generate less revenue than their male counterparts’. Due to making less money, the businesses resultantly have a shorter life cycle.
Jacque Matsen is the Public Affairs Manager for DuPont Pioneer, where she oversees external communication efforts to give the company a voice on critical food and agriculture topics. She also represents Pioneer on industry coalitions, including the GMO Answers program designed to address consumer questions about biotechnology. Jacque is an Iowa native with degrees in journalism and political science from Iowa State University.
While women have made many advances over the decades, the wage gap between the genders continues to exist. Is it possible to reduce or even close this gap and improve our lives by negotiating better and more often?
Step by step, I will embrace knowledge, read more, look at heavy issues both locally and around the globe, and remember that girls rule – and we should support each other both in the first world and elsewhere.
